w;;v As one or two of you may know, I'm in the process of building a garage to house my P&J,

but, I'm short of a double glazed window, and cash, so if anyone has a window knocking about doing nowt, and wants to donate it or sellit cheaply, :eek: that is for {very} little cash, cos I'm bloody skint trying to do the job properly, :blush:

Right'ho, send on the silly comment's, cos I'm sure one of you nice people will come across with the goods, :bow:

:eek: amazed but greatful lads, :bow: I have tried my local ''tip'' but they employ a ''jobsworth'' who won't be ''persuaded'' :rolleyes:
I'm going for the ''barn'' type doors, with no back or side door, for security,
Bob, thank's for asking, I'd have the problem of getting something that big up here, :xm
Shrops I'm delivering in grimsby to a window company ''on the morrow'' so I'll give your suggestion a try, :bow:
though, over this way, they tend to be better at measuring thing's, :rolleyes: :}
thanks again, I'll let you all know how I get on,

well I've been to sunny :rolleyes: Grimsby, asked at the window company and they want ?40 quid :eek: for a mis measure, so I had a look in their skip and spotted one that would do ''very nicely thank you'' the twat in charge pop's up and told me I couldn't have it unless I paid ?40 for that one as well,!! :eek:
so peeps I'm still ''on the scrounge''
footing's half dug now, bloody skip is now blocking my driveway, so the cage will probably be missing in the morning, :bang:

BTW I went back later and the yard was locked up, :xm bloody mind readers, :bang:

Just a thought Ian......does it have to be a double glazed unit ?? I could draw you up a plan for a timber built window frame if you give me the sizes and you could construct it from 4"x2" and weather-treat it.

I've done a few shed and conservatory window frames using timber and they hold up quite well......materials shouldn't come to more than about ?30'ish, depending on size.

I once went to the local timber/glass merchant for something.

A chap was there before me, wanted a piece of glass about this big (holds his hands out in front of himself)

I need to know the exact size, said the guy behind the glass cutting table.

Anything around this size will do, says him again with hands out in front of him again.

Sorry, I need the sizes to be able to cut it. Whats it for?

Its for a window

Then you need to give me the size, otherwise it won't fit.

Yes it will he said, I've not made the frame yet! :} :} :}
