Hi mate,
Ive been every year since 2003 & its a great week.
We have always gone B&B or self catering cottage as the NI wind & rain is not friendly for camping!
We're not going in 2012 as we're having a change and doing Assen Moto GP instead.
The best ferry route IMO is Cairnryan to Larne or Stranraer to Belfast. We usually get the Wednesday lunchtime ferry from Cairnryan and then the 7.30am ferry back from Larne. Works well for us. If I remember correctly it was £79 return for bike & rider last year through Nutt Travel.
With regards to digs, I would recommend not heading for the main towns as they are expensive. Getting digs out a bit plus cost of taxi's will still work out cheaper.
Anything else you need to know, let me know & i'll try and help.

We went over a couple of years ago for 80th anniversary year. We stayed in Newtownstewart which was if I remember correctly about 50mls from Portrush. We road in for 1 practise session and race day. But being where we where gave us a bit more of an option for other riding days.

We went Holyhead to Dublin, which meant we needed the funny money for a couple of (cheap) tolls.

Stayed B&B in a converted school house.

If your thinking of camping just remember, if its not p!ssing down it will just be raining! :-0)

Try Ballymoney

for B&B. Prices more reasonable. 12 miles from Portrush and 10 miles from Portstewart. Visit Joey's bar and grave while you're there. Don't walk over my grandparents grave while you're looking at Joey's.:-0)

One of my collegues competes on a superbike every year. As soon as he lands in town, he immediately books for the following year. He reckons it's the only way to be sure of digs.

Originally when we booked the place there was about a doz going and this place could accommodate us, plus as I said we were far enough away to go elsewhere without riding the same roads.

Went to NW200 about 7 years ago. Holyhead to Dun Laogharie. Stayed with a friend's family so didn't have to book accomodation. Well worth a visit. Saw Michael Rutter through it down the road at the Metropol. Then his bike went on fire at Church. Stranraer to Belfast is alternative route but I would rather ride on the A roads in Ireland than our M6.

Don't think about it, Do it!
