Got to say that the general attitude of most bike shops and gear shops would put even the hardest girl off getting a bike. The only people I've found to be great are a much missed mechanic from down here and 1200Pete, Jaws and Taffy. Had I not found this site accidentally when I dropped the bird two years ago, I'd probably have given up - blokes in bike shops are rubbish!!!!!!:bang: :bang: :bang: even when a girl turns up on a Bbird, they still don't think she's serious!!??

Tell me about it, my brother has a place in Stockport and he a couple of Biker-Dykes as regualr customers and he's like a dog with 2 dicks when they come to his shop. They actually know a thing or 2 about their bikes but simply don't have the tackle. (tools, to do the job. )

Have to agree with you there, my other half did get quite close to taking the first step (CBT) when i had my ZXR 400 but when i upgraded it all went down hill from there.:xm The bike shops are all for women if their going in to buy a bike but encouragement for learning seems a bit lax, bit ironic considering they need the licence first anyway.:neenaw:

Glad you found somewhere to encourage a girl to buy a bike - I took a friend into a large dealership in Bristol. She had top of the range gear on (Boyfriend had a ZX12) and was pillion on my bird, but although we found a zzr 400 she loved, we couldn't find anyone to help us find out information about it that would also follow up and let her sit on it and follow up the sale. As we were leaving, someone came to help, but as that was about 40mins after we started trying to get info, she'd given up by then. I resolved then never to spend money there!!!! :rant: :rant: :rant: !:blush:

You're right, but so many are like it. I think bike shops have been a bit slow in realising the huge market they are treating like dirt!! An awful lot of girls now progress from pillion to riding, and bike shops forgot to keep up. but the nice ones will benefit and the crap ones won't - hopefully!!!:neenaw:

Hopefully nothing, as you say it's a huge market and an untapped one, bike shop run by women, i think it would take off. (And before any of you say anything, i'm talking purely MCN birds either:xm ).
