Got the new BIRD last night, and becuase of some soccer game, I didn't really get to ride it properly; anyways, the bike had no TAX and the MOT was due.....
...after the game, and large quanties of booze, SWMBO and I put the GIVI rack on I had won on EBay. This went on a treat.
Off to work this morning and got all my work done in double time....
Couldn't wait to get home; finished nice and early and rode the Bird to the MOT station. Passed no prob and then onto the Post Office to tax it.
Once utterly legal, I headed for the nearest piece of dual carriagway.
Coming from a ZZR600 (exactly like Biker Babes') to a Bird, I knew this would be a steep uphill jaunt; but nothing, I mean NOTHING prepares you for the first wind of the throttle on a bike like this......nothing.....
First I had problem seeing, as my grin had squinted my eyes, and I backed off a tadge.
The bike runs smooth, and I found I could ride it with ease.
I don't claim to be the next Rossi; in fact his Grandpop can ride better than me, but early indications are that this a very forgiving bike.
The brakes are simply fantastic; compared to the ZZR they are located in another planetary system.
My neighbour who I usually ride with agreed to go out for a ride and we went to Aylesbury on the A413.
Fantastic road and a great ride was had....
....even by the end, I had the guts to look at the speedo now and again
Thanks to Jaws, The Pox (yet to frequent this manor, but will soon show I am sure) and the guy at www.blackbirdspares.
Both gr8 to do business with....
....just gotta install the Autocom, Hugger, D/Bubble screen, frame plugs and other oddments I have purchased.
No time for pics just yet, as I am off to Goodwood for the Festival Of Speed, but will post a few when I come back.
