Got the new BIRD last night, and becuase of some soccer game, I didn't really get to ride it properly; anyways, the bike had no TAX and the MOT was due.....

...after the game, and large quanties of booze, SWMBO and I put the GIVI rack on I had won on EBay. This went on a treat.

Off to work this morning and got all my work done in double time....

Couldn't wait to get home; finished nice and early and rode the Bird to the MOT station. Passed no prob and then onto the Post Office to tax it.

Once utterly legal, I headed for the nearest piece of dual carriagway.

Coming from a ZZR600 (exactly like Biker Babes') to a Bird, I knew this would be a steep uphill jaunt; but nothing, I mean NOTHING prepares you for the first wind of the throttle on a bike like this......nothing.....

First I had problem seeing, as my grin had squinted my eyes, and I backed off a tadge.

The bike runs smooth, and I found I could ride it with ease.

I don't claim to be the next Rossi; in fact his Grandpop can ride better than me, but early indications are that this a very forgiving bike.

The brakes are simply fantastic; compared to the ZZR they are located in another planetary system.

My neighbour who I usually ride with agreed to go out for a ride and we went to Aylesbury on the A413.

Fantastic road and a great ride was had....

....even by the end, I had the guts to look at the speedo now and again

Thanks to Jaws, The Pox (yet to frequent this manor, but will soon show I am sure) and the guy at www.blackbirdspares.

Both gr8 to do business with....

....just gotta install the Autocom, Hugger, D/Bubble screen, frame plugs and other oddments I have purchased.

No time for pics just yet, as I am off to Goodwood for the Festival Of Speed, but will post a few when I come back.

... but Nosher forgot to mention the bit about being a big girls blouse with the carbs.

The previous owner had stored the bike with fuel tap on and fuel in the float chamber ..... instant float chamber sticking from fuel lacquer. Anyway the big nellie got worried when I lifted the tank, almost cried like a girl :B when he saw the fuel p***ing out of the vent pipe and pleaded with me not to tap the carbs with the 'number one momentum transfer device' c7u8 .

Needless to say bike sorted and just to prove it I *thrashed the arse* :bandit: (hehe)off his new bird before he even got to ride it properly - much to Noshers disgust.

..... That is also an interesting description of ".. SWMBO and I put the GIVI rack on I had won on EBay. This went on a treat." I recall something like 'help my nail just got chipped ... what do all these wires do?". hmmm...

The Pox

P.S. Does anyone have any nice *pink* screens and wheel trims ... oh and some pink furry handlebar covers to keep his delicately painted nails in fine order. Offers direct to Nosher please :} .

P.P.S Despite advice from eveyone else he did not go for *the one true colour* and opted for pansy pink instead :bang: .

..... over to you Nosher! man8um

Well,

Just returned from Goodywood and had a fantastic 3 days.

Wish my riding ability could enable me to ride this bike a bit better thou !

The only time I got 'girly' Meeter P. was when the engine was running and fuel was still pi**iing out of the over flow pipes!

As for the pink bike joke, my daughter is doing that to death at the moment, and I am seriously looking a repray to Ferrari scarlett red!

The bike wth all the panniers and top box (loaded with tent, ooze and fags) was certainly an experience to ride; esp. when filtering through traffic coming out of Goodwood. I had only one bad moment when the right pannier scuffed the side of a coach, but I kept the bike upright.....just.

On the way home last night, now with 'She' on the back, the bike behaved very well.

But it is fast.......

.......bloody fast.

She and I will be coming over you way soon Rod; need a good route, as there may be a few of us.

Thanks for the pi** take and all yer help m8.
