just want 2 say a BIG BIG THANKYOU, 2 that lovely OLD FELLA jaws, i had a BIG PROBLEM with my 99 injected bird, that when it hit 1500 rpm,the engine would just DIE,nothing 2 do with the fuel injection, ( thank god) but it was that little electrical box, hidden away in the loom, which were only fitted 2 the bird between 99/00 year. anyway thanks again mate, my mechanic took the box apart, which was FULL OF WATER, cleaned all the connections up, and hey presto, full power again!!!trouble is when me mechanic was changing oil and filter,he found some white sludgey goo inside the crankcase, which he thinks is early indication of a head gasket problem, whats the going rate for a head gasket check nowadays jaws? anyway once again thanks very much for being a life saver jaws me old mate, gee.

if you only ride the bike short distance then you can get the white goo you mention, usually be the oil filler cap,it is due to the engine not getting warm enough or running too cold you need to make sure your bike runs nice and warm
