New Forum Idea: Posting Spoilers

Sometimes some of us don't want to find out the results of a race because we've taped it to watch later etc.

Most are considerate enough to mention in the thread title that the thread contains a potential 'spoiler', but I've got another idea: How about when we post a potential 'spoiler' we initially post in white so that others don't inadvertently see the result?

A bit like this:

You should see

a blank space until you

click and drag your mouse

over it. Good eh!

What do you think? (if you're not catching my drift then click and drag your mouse over the above)

OK, OK! I realise I'm colour blind and that the forum background isn't actually white!

If I push my laptop screen down I can read the spoiler without having to click and drag the mouse.

Damn. The idea was there though!

Why not just post the thread with title containing the words 'Overwanked GP Result' or ' Quickfart GP Spoiler'.

That way you can choose whether to open it or not....

Well, sometimes peeps will post results in a thread that already exists - as a reply. Don't think they are able to edit the thread's title so this is good way of disguising text.........plus, I reckon there's some fun to be had with it

Jaws has got me the exact forum background colour code now. Testing again:

The only problem is that when you are emailed a note to say that a reply has been posted on a thread you are subscribed it prints the full message in black.

Nice idea though..... back to the drawing board Sam.

BTW what was the colour?

The correct colour to match the background is #5F5F55

So you put that after a [COLOR= then close the bracket and do a /COLOR in brackets at the end

Perhaps the software could be prog'd to not send out emails relating to this particular forum??
