I read about this last night and thought it would be a very apt memorial. The crews of Bomber Command deserve it and although there is a fine memorial in London depicting a bomber crew, it's in London. I think the only place to erected a memorial is in the heart of bomber country, where it belongs.
Of all the forces who contributed to the WW2 victory, Bomber Command were probably treated the shoddiest. Their sacrifice was swept under the carpet at the end of the war (along with those brave men who manned the Arctic Convoys) and far too many former aircrews passed away in peacetime before any memorial was even considered.
This one will be a life sized representation of a Lanc, which for me is THE iconic heavy bomber of WW2.
