Hi folks,

Just bought a blackbird for next season. 99 plate 46k miles in red. Lovely machine with a big grin factor. Big step from the RC24 but im sure ill cope.

One wee electrical gremlin to sort out and ill be as happy as larry ;).

Thought I'd say hi ;)

Any advice re an electrical issue.

Ignition on, hit start and occasionally im just getting a relay click, a couple more presses and into life.

Possible loose wire / dodgy connection in starter Relay?

Think riding a pink bike is making a statement.......not saying its a good statement.....

Re starter sure someone will offer some advice, only time i experienced similar issues was with a bad alarm/immobiliser set up and when battery was dying.

Welcome aboard Gaz@tu*

I had summat similar on my 1999 BB at about 50,000 miles and it turned out to be a corroded wire on the bottom of the ignition/key switch but my fault affected the entire electrical system.
If you haven't already done it. Ya should re-post this message into the 'Help' section and you will get loads of answers (and some will prob be correct)

Welcome..
First question has got to be..

Has the loom fix been done ? If not do it as that may be the issue

Have you checked the battery connections are tight ?

Check the connections on the top of the starter solenoid..

That covers the most common issues :-0)

Not at all. Its my birthday present to myself and im showing remarkable restraint until January. Plus I stil have the vfr to take me up to November.

Yeah, the discs arent a personal choice, custom by a previous owner, but hey, plenty beef on them, not about to take them off ;)

How old is the battery? Sounds like under voltage when it clicks. Also check all output voltages ????
