There's as much chance of SA getting the 'New Blackbird' in 2006 as there is of us getting it in the UK, JB !!!! :}

The stories have been appearing in the motorcycle press for the last two years about a 'New Blackbird'.....even Honda don't know if it's gonna happen !!! Personally, I'll believe it when I see it. :beer:

If at all. Current rumours are that Honda is thinking long and hard about the future of the V5. Apparently they, (Honda), see the Blackbird as the Flagship model and want to have the best engine available. Now, other rumours circulating the pitlanes are that Honda are experimenting with two types of engine. One is a V6, which would bear some grain of truth, isnt there a team coming into the world of GP with a V6? The other engine is, wait for it, a triple! :eek:

Yup, Honda could be going the Hinckly route. Didnt Honda start racing with triples? Could this be a nostalgic nod to the past?

Funny that :dunno: , given the amount of R&D that's gone into the bike over the years, combined with constant updates, it's popularity and impresive sales, I think Honda might see the Blade as it's flagship, although I 'spose the bird being of barge proportions is the one the most resembles a ship :} (it's a joke chaps! :rolleyes: )

Thanks for the reply guys.

Well, as i anderstand from a salesman from Honda SA, they devoleped the 1200 V5 engine a while ago but had some problems with exhaust valves. The engine kicked out aprox 210 hp. After some head scratching they solved the valve problem and had to de tune the engine down to 190 hp. ( that is iff there is any truth in this story ) Wel i did put my name down on a wating list iff this realy come true. In the mean time i must just exept the fact that i wil riding the old bird for some time until. :xm To big for the " flag ship " Fire Blade, look like sitting on a old MB 50.

Yes I think it was about 26 thou miles last year..but that was only pleasure riding....But when I was dispatching in my last year of doing it.. my bike which was an XJ 900 covered 120,000 miles in 12 months. and that was without any pleasure riding....But I was riding for a living though.

The rumours of a new Bird are driving me crazy. Guys in South Africa are saying that you can no longer buy a new Bird there as they have sold out and are awaiting the arrival of the new model. If this is indeed the case then something must be imminent no?

The suspense is killing me. :eek:

We could always ring Honda in Japan and ask to speak to one of the cleaners as they normally know what going on.
