My new Blackbird

Hi everyone. Last weekend I purchased a 1998 Honda Blackbird with 32k miles on the clock. I just wanted to say hello and thanks so far for the help and advice I've already received. As far as I can tell it is pretty much original apart from a tinted double-bubble screen, tinted headlight protector, front fender extender and rear pyramid hugger. Oh, and there are the additions of a few scratches and a horrible-looking generator cover!

So far, all I've done is get the thing home (a long story in itself), put in a new battery, replaced the right hand side rear hanger (thanks again OldBirdMan), cleaned it and removed about 20 stickers that someone had evidently got from a bike magazine (a matter of personal taste, I know... just not to my liking at all!)

Here's a few pics of the old 'Bird freshly washed and one of me with my 'other red Honda' - a 1977 CG 125. If you see me around on either of these bikes in the East Kent area then give me a wave!

You're right, it's got heated grips too. I guess they'll come in handy in the coming months. I did think the rear indicator brackets looked like they had been altered. I like the 'mostly original' look so might get a set of oem ones if they come up cheap on ebay one day.

looks sweet ,, i'd fit clear indy lens'is'is , and the DB would have to go,, and fit a mra Vario.(and touch up the casing cover)job done. @tu*

Yeah I was looking at clear lenses. Don't think the orange goes that well with red. Has anyone else done this?

As for the screen, I'll see how I get on with it but I think I've seen what you're talking about, it's the one with the spoiler thing at the top yeah? Cheers

Slightly discoloured (as the bird' lives outside I find I have to replace them every few years) but otherwise ok, your welcome to them if you want.
