My 97 "Pinkbird" !

This is my 97 carb bike. Ive had it about a year & the previous owner had it from new & only covered 17900 miles on it.
Its pretty standard.Ive added a genuine Honda Accessories seat which is more comfy than the original & a pair of Micron carbon cans.
Other details are just a few personal bits & bobs & some polishing here & there.
Its looking good for a nearly 9 year old bike & still only 22500miles on it...& believe it or not,the colour really does grow on you after a while...honest!!!

very nice our first bird was a 97 carb.


i liked the kick at 7k RPM the FI doesn't have that

Ha Ha Ha yeah,it really does fly at the top end doesnt it.. Was out this afternoon and cuz of the greasy roads it was spinning up in 4th gear as soon as it hit 7000ish...s**t,time to slow down. The return journey was more sedate!!!R#?

ours was titanium lovely colour for the bird was the light tone not that horrible dark tone:puke:

Yeah,i like the titanium colour...but mine was cheapbrok3 ...maybe cheap because of the colour? I'd have to pay another ?1000 to have a black or "ti" one...hell,i'll buy the pink one & spend the money ive saved on new leathers,helmet & tyres...
After all,its not THAT pink...bl4hbl4h

Ive just bought a new,seconhand pair of fairing lowers. Im gonna get them painted then keep them for when its time to sell it. Theres no point in the fitting new ones while ive got it,cuz i'll only wear holes in them,so i'll just leave them be for now...
Still,no chance of anything grounding out with that "grease" theyve been treating the with this year...:xm

we got ours cheap too

dad has a habit of doing good deals on bikes in 3 yrs we lost ?500 on our 97 bird moved to a 01 FI blue birdy, put a hell of a lot of miles on the ti one as well so got a very gud deal

Thats good. I suppose if you buy them cheap enough,someone else has already suffered all the depriciation.?500 in 3 years...thats almost biking for free!

Just be mindfull that your bike has already been re-painted previously and would need carefull matching.. You can see on the close-up scrape pic, there are 'fish eyes' in the paint.

Pssst, you chose the best colour though. :yo:

Yes,i had the lowers repainted in the summer after i wore holes in them & having installed some slightly stiffer fork springs & pre-loaded the rear shock up a bit,i hoped i wouldnt do it again...however,that thought didnt last long as within a week they were all scraped again with a bit of "enthusiastic" riding,only this time a bit higher up...! So i'll keep the new,secondhand ones for sale time...R#?
