Must be missing sumfink!

Found myself looking at the accessories page on the Honda website tonight, (Looking at the Carbon effect mudguard, but not at that price!!), and noticed sumfink odd.

Unless Honda have changed the spec, the Bird has a aluminium, (or aloominum for our "Colonial" friends), petrol tank. So why are they selling a magnetic tankbag for the bird in the Accessories catalogue?? Aint gonna stick too well is it!

The bike, I am hoping end of march. Waiting to see what the insurance will do, what cash I have and what time i get.

As fer me? Lucky chap according to the Doc. Came close to impacting collar bone onto the Sholder socket, said that was stopped due to my size?!?!

Bruises are fading now, sholders buggered for 6-8 weeks, could take as long as eighteen months to heal properly. Before anyone asks, No. It has deffo NOT put me off riding the bike!

When I got my bird I was warned to be gentle as it was an ally tank!!! Got fecking paranoid about it when I ditched it last week!!!!!!!!!!!!! Worse still, turned down a tank bag going cheap cos it only had mag pads.

...............you need the tankbag and mapholders that Rolfy and I have. they use a special aluminium magnets and hold great loads at vast speeds.........More vast on my bike, naturally, as mine's black and Rolfys is a slightly slower blue one :f :}

Laff it up Bert, So I made a mistake. Can I remind you that the Bird is the fist bike I have owned? I assumed that as soo many tanks out there are of lightweight construction the Birds one would be too. I goofed, lest I have better taste in leathers and aint ugly!:neenaw: :m :neenaw:

Bloody hell M8, you had me worrried!!!


I had not read the specs that carefully, and had presumed it was a steel tank

I was worried about the ability of my Oxford tank bag to stay on, but the following responses put my mind at rest

As a matter of interest, I have used an Oxford Magnetic tank bag on my Thundercat and as well as never moving (up to 140 mph anyway) as long as you are paraniod about keeping the magnet pads free of any foriegn matter, you will not mark your tank. Mine was black so the slightest mark would heve shown up
