MOT and tyre valves

My daily Bird flew through its MOT yesterday - 10 years and 5 days after it went on the road - just like it has done every other year :-0)

It did however get one 'advisory' that there was perishing of the rubber tyre valve where it goes into the wheel. OK I didn't know this was part of the test and the perishing is certainly there, but the valve was fitted in Sept 07 so I wouldn't have expected it to deteriorate this quickly. Has anybody else experienced this :dunno:

I have several sets of wheels and tyres due to high mileages/splurges of punctures so this set has sat in my garage for a few months before use (tyre now half worn) and then I've just washed the bike and wheels weekly.

Anyway  to the Bird for outstanding service.
