It's very comforting to know that up here you can still have a place of your own on a typical salary.
Andy, if you would like to buy my four bed detached I would happily sell to you if you wanted to pay £1m for it
701 homes sold for more than £1M near me, apparently.
The trouble with moving north of Watford is that we English don't normally learn second languages
Proper English is wot is spoked ook North, it's you suvveners wot cart speak proper.
Cor blimey guvnor, ave a butcher's at that what just came darn the apples & pears & disappeared inta the rub a dub up the frog & toad, ad a right Barnett she did.
Where is Watford? Sounds remote...
Very frightening place, I know someone who ventured there as a missionary, he was lucky to escape, he still has nightmares, never did recover his flat cap.
That'll be 701 footballers.
More than likely.
Can't walk the streets round here without one tripping over in front of you and trying to claim a penalty.
£1,000,000 divided by 701 = £1426.53 each. Feckin' bargain...!
I'll be moving over shortly.
More than £1M each.
701 places near me sold for 3/6d ... 42 swapped for a jamboree bag, 12 for a new pushbike tyres
Damn. I wonder how long ago it was that you could actually buy a family house for that sort of money. 1950's maybe...?
I sailed past Sandbanks the other week. Prices between £3m and 9m apparently.
Just shows that money can't buy class and style.
Nice view though.
Dodgy foundations though....built on reclaimed land.
Reminds me of a local builder who I had a couple of run ins with, he bought a plot of land & built a beautiful large house, it would have been valued at around £600,000 So today would probably be over £1m, the house remained empty for about two years & then was knocked down, "has Northy got his come uppance & gone bust?" We thought.
Turned out that Wakefield council had sold the land to a guy who had it for about 20 years & then sold it to David North (The builder) with the money the guy retired to Australia to be with his family.
After the building was complete someone at Wakefield council found out that the land never actually belonged to them but was owned by Cambridge University.
Not sure of the outcome but I know that Northy lost shit loads of money & never built his dream home.
