You'll also have to pay extra if you want to exceed the speed limit.

Or use the indicators:). (snap)

I haven’t opened the no doubt click bait article….for clarity what is happening is that if you buy a new BMW and tick say the heated seat option then it is forever part of the car. If you do not tick the heated seat option you then have the option of having them by subscription later.

VW have been trialling a similar model in some markets for some time now.

The moral of the story is to tick every option when buying like any sensible person would.

First time I've heard the Telegraph referred to as clickbait :)

Sounds like they've decided to build every car with various options installed, but not activated if not selected/paid for at order time.

The start of a gentle move towards vehicles being a subscription service rather than outright purchase.

Wasn't there something about Tesla doing stuff like a amending software remotely that removed features or even disabled the vehicle?

Suddenly the drive towards "connectivity" in everyday products makes sense.

Why sell something as a one off when you can use technology to provide a revenue stream from the product into the future.

"Sorry, no morning coffee today, you forgot to renew your subscription" :)

I can just see the fun we'll have with the next generation of BMW motorcycles.
Picture a rider, out for a blast on the B roads on a sunny Sunday. Tyres are scrubbed and warm and he's in the groove. Up comes his favourite set of bends , he enters the first turn, tips in fast and smooth and edges over to get his knee down....

Just then... "Your subscription for your motorcycle's Traction Control, Intelligent Braking & ABS System is due for renewal. Would you like to renew..?"
"What.?"
"I'm sorry, I do not recognise that response. Please reply Yes or No."
"For fuck sake.. Yes".
"I'm sorry, I do not recognise that response. Please reply Yes or No."
"Yes you twat..! Of course I fucking do...."
"I'm sorry, I do not recognise that response. Please reply Yes or No."
"YES..!!!"
"Thank you. Would you like to renew for 1 month, 1 year or lifetime..?"
"Just renew it, you fuckwit, before it gets turned off and I bin it.!"
""I'm sorry, I do not recognise that response. Please reply 1 month, 1 year or Lifetime ."
"1 year.!"
"Thank you. I'm sorry, your registered card details have expired. Would you like to enter new card details..?"
"You're fucking joking..!!"
""I'm sorry, I do not recognise that response. Please reply entering new card details."
"I don't have it with me.. ."
"Please call back later with your new card details. Your motorcycle's Traction Control, Intelligent Braking & ABS System has been turned off until you renew your subscription. Have a nice day..!!"
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO....!!!!"

SCREEEEEEEEEEECH......

CRASH.

Maybe.

But it is definitely the favourite online destination for the billions of people that open it up every day without thinking about the consequences.

So click bait is obviously your new buzz words Andy
Many of your posts contain the words

As to the article it is perfectly true and in the states the matter was raised again just a few days ago
It is explained well in the following

Does open a new service for those who have the ability to hack systems.
Yep. I can just see Russian hackers taking control of all the world leaders chauffeur driven cars, turning on the rear seat heating to the max, cranking up the aircon to maximum heat and locking all the doors..!

The world will wake up to why stuff is posted on the Wild West that is internet eventually. Do you think (n this case apparently) The Telegraph are doing it because they truly want to inform the world or are they doing it as they are a commercial organisation and have underlying objectives?

Even the Wordle and similar pages that some of us on here are addicted to have an underlying purpose…targeted advertising has now appeared (no surprise there since NYT paid a lot of money for the site) and my junk mail box traffic has increased significantly.

There are a lot of clever people making themselves extremely rich on the back of sucking people in.

I wish I was clever enough to have seen the gravy train before it arrived. Like most of us by the time I spot the gravy train it is disappearing over the horizon.

All correct but anything constantly repeated in a way that berates people eventually pisses them off big time
I and I suspect most folk do not need or want someone belittling their posts with the same comment
I do not think ( though stand to be corrected ) you are even applying the term in its correct sense at least some of the time

It does not particularly bother me that Andrew keeps using the word "clickbait" I just find it predictable and a little boring !

Just a suggestion andyBeaker, if you are not willing to open links then maybe you should refrain from commenting?
