Its a statement of the obvious .... ride like a twat and expect to have an off.
Most of us on here have been riding for decades and know the risks.
A padded out copy from a bbc hack shouldnt worry any of us.

About as relevant as saying... "More pedestrians could be seriously injured by falling space debris as people avoid public transport and walk more, experts have warned."

Mind you, the number of riders I've seen out and about locally has noticably increased in the last couple of weeks and I don't recognise many of the bikes/riders.

Is it just me or do the riders you see out at the moment seem to be going faster than normal and taking more risks too. Whilst I can't see them, Im hearing a lot of bikes lately that have far too many revs for the roads around me.

I don't think there are as many as there were say ten years ago but there are certainly a decent proportion of idiots amongst them.

I think there is still less traffic on the roads as a result of corvid 19 so you may just be hearing the bikes that were already out & about anyway

Same round our way. It's becoming a regular feature in the evenings to hear what sounds like a round of Superbikes taking place somewhere nearby.

I, like many other old fart on here, can remember a time when bikes were far more plentiful on the roads
In Dagenham I lived in a small road ( about 60 houses, 30 each side ) and there was at least 10 bikers just in that road
There were bike shops all over the place, all doing pretty well

Same down here John, people couldn’t afford cars, bikes and motorcycle combinations were the order of the day.

I lived in a small village out in the sticks, 3 buses a day + the pit bus dropping off & some days that's the only motorised vehicles we saw all day, you could hear the odd biker giving it some stick on "the top road" about 3 miles away occasionally but that was it, & all the bloody lights went out after the last bus (9pm)
