Any one tried these on the bird I know they're a really good tyre on lighter machines like blades etc
but how do they cope with the bird and the extra weight

or do I go back to vipers or azaros :dunno:

Dark Angel uses them on his bike... Not too good loaded 2 up for a trip abroad i hear but otherwise fantastic.
Eric said he noticed wear early on in the trip............not as much as i did when my rear '010' evaporated within 1000 miles

Best tyre for long haul 2 up riding = AV 45/46 :-:
Best tyre for playing out IMHO = BT010/011e

Had a bike in last week with Mich's on.. Rider was very happy with them in general but they had squared off badly and had worn beyond the wear bars just a tad too bloody quickly !!

I think I may give em a go as my riding is mainly on our Welsh twisties A & B roads, hardly any m/way or dual carrage ways
I never take a pillion on the bird and If I go away I take just a tank bag

020s seem to do the job. Not any old 020 mind you, there is a specific one for the 'bird

Precious Metal is running the Pilot Roads (more of a sport turing tyre), has just come back from France in all sorts of weather, and rates them highly.

Used them

On my RSV Mille,, very good tyre,, great fun wearing the little man off the edge, never tried them on the bird,, but with 2 up riding 99% of time don't feel the need.

Just pulled off a set of Pilot Roads after 6700 mi and put on a set of Pilot Powers. My immediate impression? FANTASTIC!

The Roads were a big improvement over the 90X's that were OEM, and they seemed to wear well. Very good performance in the wet, too. I did notice, however, they were a tad vague when whipping the XX around more agressively. The front wore a bid strangely as well, but nothing as extremely bad as the 90X's. Those were absolute crap after less than 3000 mi.

Now, compared to the Roads, the Powers made the XX immediately more responsive... and they stick like glue. Haven't tried them in the wet yet (doesn't rain much around here), but I've noticed that the handling (new) is better than the Roads (new) were. The feedback from both ends is what I expect, and a welcome relief from the previous tires' feel. Of course, I can't comment about longevity, but after about 900 miles they are wearing pretty much as I expect a softer tire to. To be honest, though, I don't much pay attention to wear rates where good handling is concerned - when they're ready for a change, I change them. I'd rather do more changes with great tires than fewer changes with ones that give me the heeby-jeebies during my rides.

Comments about riding two-up on these tires don't have me concerned, since I rarely do (the mrs is content to ride her 750 Katana). The Roads weren't bad, in case yer curious. I don't expect the Powers to be particularly great for two-up, though, looking at their design purpose and heritage.

I'll keep you up on the Powers should anything significant arise.

Best to you.

'rider.
