I've spent the last 2 days putting up our lights. Where I live out in the bush I really don't see the point as there aint anyone much to see 'em. Perhaps they can be seen from space. :dunno:

Oh well guess the Xmas spirit is there. Merry Xmas all.

Just a point to remember whilst on the subject of Christmas spirit, I think we should all remember those that do a sterling job all year round, to get our deliveries to us, whatever the weather, even using their own transportation, without reimbursement for their fuel costs, ok sometimes they are a little bit late but they cannot be held accountable if the product is late arriving in the shops,
So dig deep and give generously to make these people feel appreciated,
I am of course talking about

PAPER BOYS

No mate  I just think they do a wonderful job, and don't get the consideration that they richly deserve, think about it after a hard day at work you come home with a nice cuppa you pick the paper up off the door mat and sit back and unwind, not for one minute thinking oh dear it's pissing down I bet the poor paper boy was soaked, so give generously small price to pay for a wonderful service.

i concur derek

used to do 2 morning paper rounds and 1 evening, and got very well rewarded by the peeps i delivered to.used to get about ?5 per week for all 3 rounds....up at 6-00am to deliver papers, magazines and supplements in the shittiest of weather $%3un :B .good thing was though.....i had the rounds where the "wealthier"peeps lived, and they tipped very well....on average, about 50p each[a lot of money in the 70's]which equated to around ?70 or 14 weeks wages[140 newspapers per day]

boy,i loved chrismas back then
