The pink ones either disappeared completely or selectively and then if I moved my head or blinked then saw the green ones as a halo. Then if I looked around the screen blinking the green dots followed me as if they had been burned in like looking at the sun.
Basically the centre of the eye has stuff in focus and the rest works on movement so try this.
Get someone else; sit very still in a quiet room, stare at each other's face and choose one location like bridge of nose and try not to blink at all; eventually the face will disappear and look like a mass of skin - freaked my daughter out. Then if you are doing it with your kids, wait until the effect has happened and then make a sudden movement like Blakey from 'On the Buses' (or whatever it was called), like a growl - that'll make them jump.
