Man down, man down

Tis my sad duty to report that the fat one known as bubba bounced his way down the A1 last night. Seems the backwheel stepped out and highsided him, then having a minor altercation with tarmac and a Ford Focus!

Riders back, sholder, leg and ego are bruised and to add insult to injury, has not been able to get home.

Piccies will be posted of Bird, bruises are private.

Needless to say I shall not be attending the first East Anglian bash this weekend, (And judging by the weather, most people wont either).

Damage Report

New top fairing is deffo required now as that took the brunt, headlight is, (Strangley), in one piece. Possible genorator cover required, noticed oil pissing out from that side. Suspect bpth side panels are fooked, dont know state of forks either. Double screen beyond repair and clucth lever bolloxed.

Not really had a chance to look at the damage close up cos its currently sitting in a recovery yard in South Mimms, awaiting transport to Ipswich.

When I get it back I'll take some piccies and post, you can all judge and award points as you see fit:goofy:

Surface conditions

It took me from 16.45 yesterday, till 01.30 this morning to get from Milton Keynes to Clacton on Sea

I have never driven on sheet (black ) ice for so long, gritters had not been out, trucks were unable to move on the A14, saw 50 + vehicles that had jack knifed, slid into central reservation, un-believable!!!!

I stopped and put my handbrake on, and started to slide backwards (on the A14)

We are supposed to have another 2 inches on snow tonight

regards Roger

Hi yah, sorry to hear about what happened........

Still think yourself lucky that you only ended up with bruses and nothing more serious.... :k

And at least the bike can be fixed........The only thing that will hurt then is your wallet.... :}

Anyway, rest up and take care,

Best wishes

Damn Bubba, sorry to hear about your off....
One good thing though.. apart from the plastics Birds do crash well.. It is extremely unlikely either the frame or forks will have suffered..
Something you might wanna check when you get it home is the down pipes... They often seem to suffer for some odd reason.

hey i know how you feel!

i was pooing myself that night!
left work to do they 7 mile trip home through the city..normaly bout 30 mins and 10 mins into my journey it went from cold wet roads to snow storm..deep snow on the road ice slush you name it..took me about 2 hours to get home and really could have done with several changes of boxer shorts on the way too!
north london was total gridlock..never seen anything like it in my life..took the doggies out walkies at 12am and it was still gridlock outside me gaff!..even the dogs were slipping over
couldnt unlock one of the bikes chains either as the padlock had froze!
really never wanna see a repeat of that again:rant:

Glad to hear that you're OK bubba - bikes can be fixed up quicker than we can be.

Looks like my turn to be snowed in today. Not even risking it - got up early looked outside - all nice and white. Been waiting for the bus, which didn't turn up and now started snowing again. Bollocks to it - I'm staying here!!

Many thanks y'all

for all the kind words offered in condolance in this, a very trying time for me.

Latest damage reports are as follows......

Bubba : One severly bruised left sholder, around the socket and collarbone, Imprint of a Nokia 6210 in left side of ribcage, (Got a nipple with "aikoN" on it!!). bruising around the lumbar and stomach and a HUGE bruise on me shin. OGK has been trashed, dont remember hitting me head but thats all testament to the lid! Jacket has survived.

Bird : Well, see for yourselves....

Thats fook all mate... no worries.....
The onlt bits of concern really are the nose cone and the clip on..
Maybe one of the guys on here that has changed their bars to the VTEC ones would do you a deal ?
Clutch lever is a tenner, side panels can almost def be sorted..
Other bits from scrap yards.. When I come over I will have a better look, but from what you have said and what I can see that will fix right up mate.. no probs at all..
