How do you clean it

Madhouse, what d'ya use to clean your bike, mine's only 4 months old and it has a constant film of flies on it that I struggle to get off, your's is shining like a shithouse door (whatever that means)

Mine was a proper silver 78 XS1100E with Marzocchi Strada and Fork springs, Marshall 4-1 and other stuff.
:violin:

So yours was a tarted up rat bike then?

Everything on my XS11 apart from the screen and exhausts was origonal fitment. It was a US model.

Not being from Merseyside, I have to buy my bikes.

Ohh that hurt, really hurt man.

Do you know Mick Farnworth?

I never met him, heard his name mention a lot, and saw quite a few of his posts whilst I was a member of the XS gang for about 5 or 6 years.

You only need to clean it if you ride it. It's an ornament.

Hey, each to his own man, I respect you if you wana ride a rat or a shed. It's your choice. Me....... I paid very hard earned cash for my ride.

Shame you spoilt it by buying a red oxide coloured bird.

I didn't spoil it, I sold to a fellow XS member who came all the way up from Kent and rode it back. I thought after my OFF on the VFR I'd lost me bottle with bikes, at 262 KG it was some weight to throw around. But 2 years later I bought the bird. And it don't feel all that much lighter.

Say what you like about the XS11, I don't own one now. I had a lot of very good times and memories with that bike. Wouldn't hesitate in a minute to get another if the right one came a long :neenaw:

later.........

Madhouse, what d'ya use to clean your bike,

I use 'Autoglym' (think that's what it is, will check later) You can also get the Autoglym cutting stuff (like T cut) but it is much less harsh on the paintwork. I havn't used that yet on the bird, just the wax. You can get it at good motor factors.

I tried some of my sons 'ZYMOL' that also is very good wax but expensive. Try some you will see the differance.

OK, I'me NOT gonna hold against you ALL THE NASTY things you said to me. Are you going to the Matlock meet on Friday night? If so we can 'air our views' there. I will be going.

The VFR I had was black (well it had some black in it), before I wrote it off I had had it resprayed totally black with no transfers. It was a very early production machine of 1985, way before Europe or the US got it. It was wickedly quick for a 750, it had its niggles like noisey (very noisey) tappets and so on, but it was an amazing engine for torque . Here is a couple more. Yes I know the bird is lighter than the XS, must be me gettin weaker in me old age.

Again excuse the ruff n ready html.

Ride safe and join in the banter cos it cost nowt and means nowt.

Yes I realise that :f

I look forward to meeting all of you who have read this thread on Friday night who are going to the Matlock meet. w;;v

Oh, I nearly forgot........

Where you ever a member of XS11.com?

if so what was your name/nick?
