I have an old hob from a caravan that I'm going to set into a worktop in the tack room.
There is just a thin copper pipe & I need the bit that attaches to the tube from the gas bottle,
1) Where would I purchase said attachment?
2) would it be a compression fitting?

Thanks.

Andy will be along shortly with the solution. 8rfl@

On a serious note, as its in the help section, the pipe is probably standard 8mm (at least it is in my caravan) and as such standard compression fittings are available.
You would need a bit of flexible pipe and a regulator (the correct one of the type of gas being used) to fit to the gas bottle.
However Derek, its gas, if you need to ask should you be doing it???

Is this going to be some sort of field to plate pop up restaurant thing going on?

Orange gas pipe and two hose clips. I just bought one for my garden barbecue, as I nicked the previous one to install a caravan hob in my van.

I'll assume you bought a regulator already? There's a screw-fitting or push-fitting, depending on your bottle. The screw fittings are reverse-thread, damn confusing!

ALready got the Orange pipe, gas bottle & regulator, don't want to connect orange tube direct to copper pipe, rather do the job properly.

I make one joint even safer than it was before and I am a dangerous lunatic.

Derek messes with a potential bomb and everyone offers help.

So where are you going to have the gas bottle? outside or inside? If inside is it properly vented?

The tack room is well vented but the gas bottle is going to be outside, approx 3mtrs away.

Clueless in most things

Would you then need a small box type container possibly insulated for the bottle and with that distance how would you ensure the hose is protected against impact and weather variations?

Can you post a picture please Derek ?
There are several variations on what you are looking for.
I do have a few different fittings, and one MIGHT help you

Plastic plumbing fittings should do the trick. Marvellous things.

Tried taking pics but my samsung is shite.
Basically what I'm after is a stepped cone shape & it fixes onto an 8mm copper pipe, I then work the orange tube over the cone & tighten it with a jubilee clip.

My samsung is refusing to accept WiFi from my camera & for some reason my iPad & iPhone 5 won't let me post pictures on this site, iPhone 6 supports nfc so that's what I should be getting on Thursday unless EE try to rob me.
