Bev’s cousin Andrew has just been to see us, he & his sister Janet are a bit stuck & getting bad advice, 18 Months ago their father died & they are next of kin.
Years ago their father took a 99 lease on some council land (ex railway) & built a lovely bungalow & a petrol station, he ended up building several business properties on the land, which he sold all except the bungalow, he got ripped off by his accountant who retired & moved abroad, the bank ended up repossessing the bungalow which has remained empty for over 20 years & needs demolishing.
I believe that the remainder of the lease passes to Janet & Andrew but the lease has never been mentioned, they are wondering if the bank will owe back rent for the bungalow.
