I was told the bird has a very breathy air filter so theoritically no need for K&N (other than no need for change it but I don't do THAT many miles that it is a issue) - anyways, any of you fitted K&N, did it make any difference in the breathing? I ask because Bruno (the French guy who came to the bash) fitted some and said it was breathing a bit better, but sometimes it's just in the head hence me wanting second, third, fourth, fifth... opinions, TIA! 8ree!

Go for it

I've got one.
They cost about ?60 but they are wash/cleanable and should last the lifetime of the bike.
Now if your strict about servicing your air filter, find out how much a Honda desposable one is & then work out how much it'll be after replacing it a few times.
I had mine fitted when the Dynojet kit was installed.

As Ben said they are paid for with three filter changes ( 36,000 miles ) and also as Ben and Lumpy said you should really consider a PC II and having it set up properly...
Sorry to say according to the guys who make them there are STILL only two compayies in the UK that have bothered to send guys on there course and are actually qualified to do the biz.. one of those is in Scotland ( Edinburgh I am led to believe ) and the other is in Norfolk just outside Norwich.
There are 400 seperate checks and adjustments to complete to get them right.. Just downloading an available map will get you in the ball park but will in all probability be so far off as to negate any advantage..

Joeboy got his power comander set up by a guy who preps bikes for the track & Joe's feedback was very good.He recomends the guy and he's based down here.
So Pierre-Speak to the Sanchez.

I've a K&N

with a power commander, and I can hartily NOT RECOMMEND blue flame,
there bloke there spent nearly all day pissing about, and in the end had to send me and the bike away, to go back later to one of his ''mates'' at the monster mob in blackpool area, to try and sort the mess out, they in turn ended up scrstching my d/bubble, and not doing the job correctly, to the ''tune''!! of me having to take off my 4to1 and put the originals back on.

Lumpy :f if you've seen stickers on my beast it must have been in a weird twisted dream, no sticker here, even took the logo out of my blueflame so there:neenaw:

Speaking of blueflame, they didn't set up my bike they just sold their 4-2-1 full tita full system powerport and the sound is ace, performance ace, but maybe they're just good at making them and crap at setting them up?

Speaking of setting them up Ben you might be speaking about Steve Jordan, he ordered the blueflame for me and set it up - with a power commander II, and he did a brilliant job at it, but then again, as Ben said, he prepares bikes for race and teaches track days - plus he is a nice lad :yo:

Speaking of a brilliant job you lads were ace at responding in such a speedy way, Ben do you find your bird breath es better

Speaking of breathing better I'm gonna have a gitane :-:

Speaking of a gitane, nothing 8ree!
