Clueless in most things
Unless your having some tuning done and having multiple bits fitted at the same time and then having it set up properly on a dyno, then I wouldn't bother with a k & n on it's own as the bird is one of those bikes that works perfectly well with a standard filter

My pile of used K & N filters is slowly growing and festering in a corner of the workshop !

Still using K&N

My experience with the K&N filter has been OK. MY bird is a 2000 XXY (obviously injected) I did put on new cans (Fuel) and a power commander at the same time as the K&N. I used a downloaded map for my model of bird with aftermarket filter and Fuel cans from the Dynoject site. It all seemed to run well.

Had it dyno tested some time later with the idea of tweaking the map but the test showed the fuelling was pretty well spot on using the downloaded map.

The dyno showed 140 BHP as the back wheel not really a big number but I was more interested in sorting out the apparently rich fuelling of the stock map.

All seems to have be fine since I put it on about 2 years ago. I hope I am not heading for a problem maybe I am.
