Just about ready

Wolfie

Is a lunp
to give up on my blackbird. :bang:

just done wheel bearings , headraces, after nearly dying on the bike, and yes they were worn out.

so why does the bike still handle like a feckin shopping trolley!!!! took it to the club last night and the handling was feckin shit, the worn bearings was better!!!.

tire pressures are good, tyre thread is good, no squared tyres.
forks i did not touch the insides just took them off the bike and put them back on again. front was torqed up right.

i have a ratty beat up 24 year old cx500 that wobbles like feck but on my life it handles better than my blackbird does at the moment and i am not joking.

will give it some time this week checking things and measuring etc, but if it does not improve, then it will become the winter hack or sold and the cx500 will get tarted and become no1 bike.

seriously the front flops in on the bends, the back weaves, the front wallows around on the straight, tracks every single groove in the road, am not happy with the bike and at this moment in time would not let anybody else on it at all, i just could not forgive myself if it chucked them down the road.

any thoughts ideas gratefully recieved.

any piss takers.

fuck off now before you start.

last night i was overtaken by a cbr400 two up, at 65mph cause the feckin thing was all over the place.

I was on the feckin A1 :bang: :bang: :bang:

suspension is/was fine unless a spring has broken suddenly in one of the forks........

another thing to check.

sounds like suspension,,

Wolfie,, how many miles you done ?,, whats the year of the bike? You say suspension is ok,, but how do you know,, have you had it rebuilt,, replaced? new front springs & oil & a rebuilt/new rear shock should sort it if it hasn't been done already.
just a case of ruling things out,, then you are left with the answer,, keep trying. :dunno:

Have the tyres been off the wheels at all? I once had a slow puncture on my VT500 took it to be repaired, riding home it was like shite so took it back, it turns out they had put the tyre on the wrong way round.

suspension new springs/oil etc last year.

shock was fireblade shock rebuilt with new spring as well last year.

tyres were new last year and have not been off since.

coddy i dont like people a lot, it takes me ages to feel right with them and i would not trust/believe a word they were saying about my bike, sorry is just the way i am.

just been out and looked again and i think that the forks are higher through the yoke than i set them but am not sure cause i can not remember what i set them to, but the bolts feel tight enough, need to borrow my mates torque wrench again tomorrow to check them.

ah feck........... i left him to torque up while i made the coffee...ahhh :bang: :bang:

Fekin ell wolfie if it's as bad as that you need someone who knows what it's about
a few ?ss in the right hands should be able to pinpoint the problem without you going down the road to bankruptcy replacing this and that can cost loads
there's a lot of firms out there offering suspension set up's could be worth a try.

first of all i am gonna have a few words with a certain mate, half the feckin bolts dont seem tight enough, but i will need his wrench first to check them out.
