The partner of a female work colleage was up in court today for riding his Blackbird at 117mph on a dual carriageway. He already had 5 points on his licence so was expecting a ban. He got 6 points and a ?500 fine.

If you get a ban...do you have to take the test again, or can you just get back on the road?

Also...does the ban wipe out the points?

Just interested, like.....not planning on getting any (more  :B )

I think the courts can say whether or not you are to be re-tested but I think this depends on what you have been banned for.
However you can have a 12 month ban shortened by about 3 months if you agree to go on the driver/rider improvement scheme
