Went to buy my parking ticket this morning having bought something for £1 to split my £5 note. One coin kept being rejected by the machine & on close inspection I found the coin that looked like £1 but slightly thinner was in fact a 20JMD coin.

Imagine my disappointment when I found it was worth 11p. :BangHead:

Hang on to it, after the pound value plunges after Brexit it might be worth a fortune :couch:

More to the point.....Why didn't you post up whatever you bought for a pound in the 'today I bought' thread?

Didn't think a sausage roll from Grassmere farm butchers noteworthy (although it was a really nice sausage roll).

As you raised it.....:D

The pick n mix thing at b&q is quite interesting...I was more than happy to get this lot for £2.50.

You can select anything you want from screws, bolts, nuts and washers, not A massive selection but handy if you just want a small amount of stuff and don't need a big pre sealed packet. Three bag sizes available, as long as you can seal the bag it isn't a fixed price, which depends on what size bag you choose.

We used to have an old fashioned ironmongers in the town where you could mix and match nuts, bolts, screws and washers and just pay for the weight. You could choose from loose and/or prebagged quantities.

Don't start that again...!
The pound strengthened by 9 cents after the election last month. I’d be very surprised if it went down after tomorrow. If anything, it’ll go up again.

Here’s a newsflash: the UK leaving the EU means just that. It does not mean Armageddon and I’m pretty sure the world will still be spinning on Saturday morning.
