Italy run.. blown out

Yup,
been looking fwd to this all year.. The one big run I had managed to make time for and of course my annual week holiday..

The people I go with had already decided to do the harder, off road passes in the Alps so I was gonna make my own way to Italy.. then it turns out they changed their minds and was doing the hotel thing there cos their wives were going... so now I am looking at riding their on my own and plotting up at the camp site on my own..
Then the night before last I find they are no longer coming home on the Sunday as arranged but on the following Wednesday.

Sooooo,,,, a holiday with some mates has turned into a ride to Italy alone, a week camping alone and a ride home alone..

Feck it.. For all the shite I have decided to stay at home..

Pissed off, feeling miserable as feck and on a right fookin downer.............

I'm sorry mate. I know how much you were looking forward to it.

P&P offer still stands, although it's no compensation. Four of us are riding up from Essex and you could meet us somewhere. All on Blackbirds and we'd even slow down for your blue one.

Well I now intend getting to the SF day at the Ace on Sunday.. so thats one day sorted.. Gonna take woman out shopping on another day, write a new web page on another ( got a new tool range coming on line ) .....

The thing about the Italy run is no speed cameras, crazy ( CRAZY ) Italian, polish Dutch and German friends, sleeping under the stars, getting drunk ( something I do not do EVER here in the UK as I do not drink usually ! ) having the german folk take the piss outa my pathetic attempts at deutsch, and the Italians simply giving up trying to teach me the language..larffin so hard at jokes I do not understand that my sides hurt.... and best, the very best of all that 1000 to 1200 mile run.. Just a great buzz..

That's a bummer Jaws :xm but like Marcella says there are some really nice roads up here as well as italian restaurants! Worth a visit even if you are only passing through!

john mate you're welcome to join me on my haul through gaul next week if you want - don't know if you'll get ferry bookings this late? leaving the 16th (night ferry) back on the 26th (night ferry arrives morning of 27th). intending to head down to the pyrenees via bordeaux and back up via the auvergne.


currently just me and my tent... and perhaps i could learn a little more about how my bike works 8l1nd

but you can only come if you bring a spare 30amp fuse and a spare reg/rec :k

And just to complete the debacle, as soon as I realised the trip was off I booked in a service for the Saturday forgetting all about the pie and peas run ( which I wanted to go on but could not cos of the fookin trip ) ..

During my years of dispatch work there was some fairly regular runs.. some of which were to various parts of Scotland ( from Aberdeen and Edinburgh in the east to Fort William in the west.. I did it so many times that I got to the point of hating the various routes available in that general direction !
Ok, when I get there, Scotland in general is wonderful and I would recomend it as a destination to one and all,,,, but the getting there, fo me, is errrr... well lets say I would not enjoy it any more :cry:

Never mind.. I shall enjoy the DF day no matter what ! LOL !!!
