Anyone else got one? I picked up an 11 Pro Max in Midnight Green last night. Awesome piece of kit.

Don’t tempt me with more bling I don’t need, but might want regardless. How much?

The Pro starts at £1,049 for the 64GB, which is way too small in terms of storage. Because the screen resolution on these new phones (from most manufacturers) is so high, the apps are getting larger and take up more space. Then there's the 4K video and very hi-res photos. The 256GB is £1,199 and and the 512GB is £1,399. If you go for the Pro Max, then add £100 to the price of the standard Pro for each variant.

For what most people want, the standard 11 is said to be a better phone than the 11 Pro. However, my tiny penis dictates the need for the 11 Pro Max.

When did we get so fixated on having a mobile phone with the computing power of a small Cray computer.?

I've never paid more than £200 for a phone. I'm quite happy with the Honor 10 Lite I've got at the moment and I'm using GiffGaff most of the time so I'm saving twice. No OTT phone on an expensive contract.

I took my 6 on a two year contract and then moved to Sky where I get 4mb for £6 a month. Seldom use 1mb, rest goes in a bank along with the mrs spare data that can be traded in for movies on SkynBox Office amongst other things.

Works well for me.

Fair point. I mean £1,500 for a bloody phone is absurd; aside from a Blackbird and a petrol BMW, that sort of money could buy a decent laptop.

However, everyone has their 'thing' and mine is my toys. I buy a new phone whenever I feel like because I don't piss money up the wall on things that other people consider a priority. By that, I mean we both work full time, we don't have kids and I don't drink (apart from the four weeks a year we're on holiday), I don't smoke, I don't gamble, I don't do drugs and I don't do scruffy women. Once my financial commitments are taken care of, my disposable income goes on food, fuel, sports supplements (protein, creatine, aminos, etc.) and my toys.

I don't pay for phone usage as such because I have my business sim card in it. My employers provide a phone and we can use it for whatever whenever providing we don't take the piss. I just choose my own handset and pay for it myself because I don't like the Android shite that the company prefers.

You sound a proper bundle of fun, Pow-Lo! :)

You must have big biceps though, what with all that creatine!

I'm a riot, me.

I used to have 17" biceps before my right elbow and shoulder fell apart last year. After spending a small fortune on physio and osteopathy, I'm just about done with rehab. It's a long road back at my age though :hanged:

No argument there. At least your money is going on things that bring you pleasure. It's amazing the number of folk who spend big money on stuff that is supposed to enhance their lives, but becomes a money pit.
Houses and gardens are two I can think of...
I've got friends and family who have spent large amounts of money on extending their properties... AFTER their kids have left home... Why..?
As for those who spend big on their gardens and then spend half their lives maintaining them.... I'll never understand the fascination in that. If you want to enjoy a well maintained garden then join the National Trust...!

We had a Spark mainframe at Eastern Electric.. Most phones would leave it standing today ( and this was about 1992 )
