Have a bitch Internet banking

Just got off the phone from my bank as a pass code generator used to access the account on-line has stopped working. The battery's run out and can't be replaced.

I've had to order a new one which will take between 7 - 10 days to arrive. in the meantime, should I need to transfer money to someone else to pay for goods (& I have two such bills to bay within the next 7 - 10 days, neither trader has a card reader), I have to phone my bank again to arrange a transfer, or use my credit card account. I've just spent nearly 7 minutes, 3 listening to a recorded message and another 4 minutes on hold & effectively can't use on-line banking for a week.

The only other option I was given was to use the phone app. which I can download immediately but they need to issue a letter with a code. You guessed it, it will take 7 - 10 days. Just as well I have a debit card.

I get it that they have these security things in place to save me from fraudulent activity, but it's still a pain in the ass sometimes.

My Nationwide one died few years ago... of coarse on a Sunday
Wnt to the place on Monday, and they just handed me a new one... but the thing is, they said if I had ANY banks card reader it would work !

Nice idea, but my nearest branch is Milton Keynes, a bit of a journey. I'm also guessing that as they also need to send me a passcode to authorise it, i would still need to wait.

Sounds like they are a bit behind the game - those that are on point use fingerprint or retina recognition.

Providing you have the right kit that is....says he who still uses a twenty year old laptop for some some stuff.....

SCAM !!!!!!!
Well, used the PayPal login a week ago to pay for some stuff and the site wouldn’t let me login, instead gave me a numerical code to quote back to a phone call I would be receiving, part of updated security allegedl, sure enough, IPad in front of me the phone rang and an automated system asked me to enter the code, I did, the site immediately opened into my account, it’s done it three times now just wondering what’s going on and what to do?
If I can’t access my account any other way I’m stumped.

Yep..Paypal and Natwest now send you a security number via text or phone call.
You cannot proceed unless you input said code number in the space provided on their sites.
I have been doing this for months now and no issues.

Thanks mate, have just changed me password and had to go through the palaver again, all the info is on their site and seems to part of their security protocol.
Thought I’d fallen for a scam, now stopped shitting meself (y).

Paypal blocked my account once because they’d noticed me logging in from ‘a series of unusual locations’. What‘s so unusual about Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore and India? Twats.

Try sending them an email from Nigeria, asking them if you can transfer some money to them. (y)
