Not bad, not bad at all.Headphones on or crank the AV up….proper musician alert.
Hard to believe this was first recorded in 1950.
Said violinist has been with Rod for years and is a very, very talented musician on a number of instruments (as is her sidekick) really good vocalist . Also plays with the widest smile ever. Not bad, not bad at all.
Couple of observations:
1. Who was Mr. Stewart telling to eff off at 4:07?
2. The violinist stopped smiling immediately after and she left the stage tout de suite when the song ended.
3. Now I mention the violinist..........
Can I take that as you have no idea who he was swearing at? The violinist seemed a little upset after that even though he appeared not to have been looking in her direction.Said violinist has been with Rod for years and is a very, very talented musician on a number of instruments (as is her sidekick) really good vocalist . The Hyde Park concert that was taken from is well worth a watch on YouTube , skip the first few tracks then he launches into the early stuff. Stunning version of ‘I’m losing you’ amongst others. unfortunately not Mandolin Wind, possibly my most favouritest piece of music ever.
Obviously I have no idea. She did the rest of the concert with her trademark dazzling smile so I can only guess it wasn’t her. I know Rod was getting it in the ear from the bbc to cut stuff from the concert and he made some comments about that - presumably as he was over running - it was broadcast live. Can I take that as you have no idea who he was swearing at? J'anna Jacoby is her name.Obviously I have no idea. She did the rest of the concert with her trademark dazzling smile so I can only guess it wasn’t her. Amusingly he also, referenced bbc later after doing The Killing of Georgie….they banned it at the time it was released as it was about a gay man who was murderEd (based on a true story) and here he was being paid by the bbc to perform it live.
Prince - best live performance I have ever been to.Been playing a far bit of Prince lately, I'd forgotten how much I like his work. Mad as a hatstand but musical genius.
I never had the opportunity to see him; every time he came to the UK, I was away at sea or on a job. I've heard way too many people say he's the best live performer they've ever seen to think anything different.Best

We saw him at The O2 - he was making a statement about the ridiculous price of concert tickets..he did 29 nights and every seat was £29 AND everyone was handed his latest CD on the way in. Tina Turmer was there a week or two later, silly money tickets and the place was apparently half empty.I never had the opportunity to see him; every time he came to the UK, I was away at sea or on a job. That was pretty cool of him to do that. I saw Guns N Roses in Singapore not long after Prince died. Their bassist, Duff McKagan had that symbol on his bass as a tribute to him. Seems he was very well respected in the industry. We saw him at The O2 - he was making a statement about the ridiculous price of concert tickets..he did 29 nights and every seat was £29 AND everyone was handed his latest CD on the way in. Says he, who has just sold a kidney to pay for Rod and Elton tickets
Indeed, a very sad loss to the music worldBeen playing a far bit of Prince lately, I'd forgotten how much I like his work. Mad as a hatstand but musical genius.
