My wife has had something similar at the hospital where she works. They bought a truck load of LGBT+ rainbow badges and have been putting pressure on staff to wear them to show how the Trust is doing it's bit to promote Diversity and Inclusivity.
She has refused to wear one, despite pressure from managers. The only badge she has on her uniform is a Veteran Aware one after she was sent on a course.

All this lgbgt+woke shite is really pissing me off, they can stick their badges etc. where the sun don’t shine, and probably enjoy it too.

The biggest problem with the NHS is the rampant corruption, and waste, right across the entire supply chain. The NHS is given plenty of money - no Government, whatever the colour - has the balls to deal with the structural problems within the NHS and, as with every essentially unregulated and unaudited public sector entity, crooks and shysters are queuing up to help themselves. For every underpaid nurse and auxiliary on the front line there are contractors, suppliers, labour agencies and managers raking it in.

Good on her.

The other main issue with it is that patient care takes a back seat to spreadsheets and an excess of incompetent managers.

The hospital where my other half works has, like a lot of hospitals, an "old" part and a "new" part. The new part is well served with air-conditioning, especially the offices, the old part mostly relies on portable units.
With the recent hot weather, my wife has been shuttling around wards (she has 44 distributed beds to look after, some in corridors and mostly elderly patients) in both sections of the hospital.
Patients and staff in the new areas have coped well with the heat due to the fitted aircon. In the old sections and corridors it's not been much fun as there aren't enough portable units to go round.
A couple of years ago the hospital bought a batch of Dyson fans for the old section wards to use in hot weather. They're not cheap anyway, but no doubt the hospital procurement paid top dollar and then some for them.
Unfortunately most of these were unavailable for use in the old wards because many of them have found their way into old section offices. Several have mysteriously disappeared from the hospital completely.
As you can imagine, it's not been great for ward staff or patients in the recent heat.

Still, an LGBT+ badge works wonders on morale.

We have had a lot of interface with NHS over the last couple of years…the only area where we feel they haven’t been good is the exit process from hospital.

Having said that it’s always been my mother in law and I don’t suppose she made it easy for them.

My Aunty is a nurse, working in an NHS hospital.

She retired from full time work at 60, took her pension & lump sum, had a month off and now works in the same hospital as an agency nurse, for more money but only works part time

There's something seriously wrong with that.

I've heard about that before, except the person telling me retired on the Friday and was back at work on the Monday

In defence of the NHS we should be lucky to have it even with all its faults, I know that I couldn't have afforded to pay for my treatment over the years especially for the cancer treatment I received.

They need to clamp down on the health tourists and insist everyone coming here has health insurance.

I think they also need t get rid of a few management layers and non productive staff.

To be fair, I've received good service once I've got to the hospital, it's the privately run healthcare healthcare trusts where I've had issues.

My wife's neice does the same. She left after 15 or so years of working as an A&E nurse (same hospital as the wife) and is now happy learning carpentry and woodwork on an apprenticeship.
Her manager persuaded her to come back at weekends doing bank work shifts in the same A&E because they are so short staffed. .

That's one of the biggest problems in the NHS.... a total reluctance on the part of team leaders and managers to bring disciplinary action against incompetent, lazy, bullying or downright dangerous staff.

I might have said before, I don't know exactly where in the system, but they went from 90 managers to 250 managers in a restructuring process.
