The Government had to make drastic cut backs and get rid of one of our armed forces which one would we need the least?

i would be surprised if the raf didn't make it's centenary. things are becoming much more tri-service, but modern armed conflict demands air superiority (can you imagine the recent gulf war, but with the iraqis having planes in the sky?!). i don't think the navy air arm, or the army helicopter branch are able to take over from the RAF at the moment. In time this could be changed. however... if one HAD to go, it would be the RAF... but not for quite sometime i think... but if they do go can i take a healthy redundancy package please :-:scruffygit said:Chatting to one of our Very Senior officers a few months back, his personnal opinion was that the RAF would be lucky to make its centenary (1st April - now there was someone with a sense of humour - 2018). And if we did then it would be purely for political bollox and we would be shut down on the 2nd.
Nah!! they are "ear marked" for sale to our "future" enemy's like the rest of our "old" weapons and social security payments!!Aidey said:What, have they not got any refuelling aircraft left then?
