Sounds a great run but don't we have to keep under 15 mph in North Wales? I though the chief cop up there was a bit of a twat when it came to speeding, Bumstrop or something?

He's not there anymore. They are still a bit hot on the dickheads that use the roads like their own personal race track but yes more mortals should be ok.

More and more average speed cameras cropping up, then when you think Im out of the zone they stick camera vans to catch you out. Dont get me wrong I dont want to tear arse about everywhere. I have been stopped lots of times in North Wales and the object is for the force to encourage you to go elsewhere so you dont become a statistic on their patch. The police are then seen to be doing their job well. This worked once on me and I decided to go to Sheffield over the Snake Pass which is a great road, I got stopped there as well for a safety check ?. talking to the officer it became obvious he knew very little mechanically about bikes other than the tyres looked ok. just a case of interrupting your journey.

I’d suggest Woodhead as an alternative to Snake Pass, but it’s full of lorries.

Hi Martin, yes I have done the Woodhead a few times, Its good but I prefer the Snake Pass. I got to know it very well when Mrs. was attending a specialist hospital consultant every week for months

I used to like going West over Woodhead and come back over Snake Pass, with a rest at Ladybower before heading home via The Strines.
