I had a similar problem with my gas got in contact with OFFGAS. got it sorted.
So you could try OFFWHAT I think....Mind you it was 20 yrs ago.

John, we had similar thing, we were ?160 in credit with them because our direct debit amount was a bit too much. Simply rang them up, within a week, had ?100 returned to our bank account. We could have had it all but I wanted to stay in credit to see how winter bill works out.

After a couple of fone calls they agreed that yes, I was in credit to the tune of ?690+ quid and that ( in their words ) this matter will be addressed.
Then I get another fone call..

Well we do not know how but you cannot have a refund because you cannot be in credit.
But your statement says I am in credit

So therefore you owe that money to me..

So if its pre-payment how do you manage to get so far in credit? did gyppo aquire a load of tokens? Not a good way to get your juice ie most expensive.Jaws said:

No, when we changed from quarterly to prepaid they set the meter wrong..
We only got about 75% of the electrickery we was paying for.
They eventually ( after a good few years ) reset the meter to deliver the correct amount of juice for each token.
Now the company has changed hands about 5 times and all the records seem to have gone..

Any reason not to go back to direct debit? Its the cheapest way to pay!
