Just returned from Casa-a-La-Jaws, in the heart of Norfolk (where are the bloody hills???)
Got a new chain and sprockets for a resonable deal, and what astonished me was the amount of pi$$ taking there was (owing to the colour of my bike) that was very much part of the Jaws service! The old chain was almost certainly on it when the bike was first built - so 20K miles out of a chain, can't be bad....
John had a good shuftee around the bike and all in all, I am pretty happy that I haven't bought a total turd....
...even my recent installation of the headstock bearings got the thumbs up!
Nosh and better 1/4 will also be attending the Bash, and we have paid our dues..
I also got a look at the Alladins cave of BB bits and proceeded to spend all of the cash I had bought!! New 100 watt bulb, 'magic' cloths, tyre pressure cap thingies, and after seeing the Robbo vistacruise, I also plumped for one of them!
.........just gotta install and adjust the damn thing now.
It was a pleasure to meet the man, behind the prose - who also got a lot of kudos from me as he even had the balls to go on the back as a pillion - that takes nerve!
He even spotted a little problem with the rear disc and following a wander round the bike spotted something amiss from the link pipe on the right side - he managed to bastardise a rubber from the gear shift lever to replace the rubber stop on the right pipe of my cans to stop the centre stand smashing into it!
'Diamond geezer' is an overused description of an individual in todays society, but he certainly warrants it IMHO.
Thanks again John - your help, assistance and advice was very welcome and greatly appreciated...
