The euphoria surrounding Rossi, ok he's a decent rider who can handle his bike a bit, but to talk of him in god like terms is ludicrous, he is a human being getting well paid for doing something he enjoys, there are surgeons performing life saving operations several times a day, day in day out but how often are they revered? only when we need them, if Rossi were to have a spill and never ride again it wouldn't alter the course of the world, we need to get things into perspective.

Absolutely nothing mate the whole team were Gods, but I used to deliver Billy Bremner's paper, and hang around with his son Billy junior, the man was brilliant

At no time have I said I don't like good bike racers, the point I am making is that they are being referred to as gods when at the end of the day all they are doing is riding motorbikes, and yes giving thousands of people (including me) enjoyment but can they stop world poverty? can they bring an end to suffering? can they prevent wars? can they stop child abuse? the simple answer is they are as powerless as the rest of us, ok let's enjoy watching them perform on their bikes, let's be impressed by their skills and courage, and let's talk about their races, after all that is what it is all about I think Mr Rossi would be very embarrassed to hear somebody calling him God,

An interesting thought if in the 70's teams played under todays conditions ie heated pitches, lighter footballs that don't get heavier when it rains, the modern training and physio facillities would Leeds have won more trophies?
