1. To run Avon 46Bs to the edge (1-2mm left on the right, 2-3mm on left), as my toe touched down this morning with the ball of my foot on the peg.

2. To get my knee down without falling off.

It depends on your skills, if the road is dry etc.. but hang on for a bit, and you'll have a twat telling you it's easy-peasy lemon-skeezy on the bird, that you can even scrape the side panel of the fairing (which is possible with no 6mm washer but ask for commitment), but it's hard on [their bike] and they do it because they're riding gods%$fan:f

If you cheat you can get your knee down long before the peg feelers touch ( but I aint said that and of course it is NOT something I would ever do, no sir... no way...
Actually, I will say that it is easier to get a kneee down than scrape the body work.. so thats the one you wanna aim for ! Those of us with tarmac scars on the side panels are the real hero's

road or track?

If road, why? But if you insist, IMH limited ability it's actually easier to do it at slow speed on the road. The key is to set ya self up before the corner. Get the ball of ya foot on the edge of the peg, get at least one arse cheek off the seat (arse and a half if on the barge :} ), stick knee out (helps I guess:} ), drop the shoulder, head up looking through the corner, RELAX & remember to breathe (this is key!), tip in gradually & bingo.
Don't try to force ya knee down/out as this is counter productive.
If ya want lessons my rates are very reasonable and my success rate is 100% :} (that's 1 out of 1)

If on track, it comes naturally or apply the above plus throttle

I got my elbow down a few times, but not on the Bird yet.

Who can get both knees down at once?

Phew - scrapping the side panels eh, where do you guys stick your legs - on the other side and go sidesaddle? Don't know what roads you use but just don't trust the roads round my way to lay it down that far!

Ta for all the advice, there's a couple of very quiet roundabouts on the way home, and as I'm not going to be getting to a track anytime soon I thought just for once to be able to say I touched down.

:yo:
