Hot weather gear

I'm going on a two week trip to Austria in July and am concerned about the heat, what should I wear?
I run a bit hotter than most anyway and found myself struggling at 22 degrees in the west of Scotland last weekend wearing my HG Master textiles with a thin wicking layer underneath. Would I have been better in leathers? Should I buy a better ventilated suit, any recommendations?
Thanks

T shirt, shorts and flip-flops?

Both leathers and textiles are hot. Not much you can do. Just look forward to a cold shower at the end of the day!

I've got a set of hot weather textile trousers with that mesh stuff.

Bought a couple of years ago.

They are fitted with armour and do seem to work reasonably well in that the wind comes through the mesh

But ..... I'm not too convinced that they'd actually be any more protection than jeans in an accident.

:dunno:

Just go a bit faster ! Seriously though, and I might get called for this, but All Mcdonalds are air conditioned in Europe, and are very useful for the loo, cooling off and have an iced milk shake.. works for me. Oh. and make sure you drink plenty of water. We take those small resealable sports bottles, and just keep refilling them.

I was in south of France last summer in 35 degree heat. Biggest problems were in towns and in slow traffic. I had HG textile jacket and draggin jeans. I stopped for long lunch in aircon supermarkets and drank lots of water throughout the day. The heat saps energy and concentration so be realistic about how far you can go in one day.

I've always sworn by leathers rather than textiles of any description. They get a bit hot off the bike but on the bike they are unbeatable.

Got some of those draggin jeans and found I got hotter in them then I do in my one piece !!!

Sidi do a Vertebrae boot that has perforated leather; def make a bit of a difference but not life changing.

I always wear leathers and find they are fine as long as you are moving; it's the slow mstuff that makes everything hot and sweaty!!

you maight want to think about using a Camelbak drinking system as well; obviously great for hydration but also a useful 'cooler' as well, albeit for a limited time.

HG Tricky jacket + jeans at Pas de las Casa, Andorra 2 weeks ago. It was cool up in the Pyrenees but very hot at 35 celsius down below. I don't like wearing just jeans but it was just too hot. Always had water in the topbox and drank a lot. Like someone said above, have a cool shower at the end of the day.

vented leathers are best as i would rather be sweaty than have my skin along the tarmac

Ummmm... I do have a Hein Gericke Mesh suit for sale. Only used it on a trip for a few days in the south of France and it was a good piece of kit, problem is that since my marriage I've lost about 1.5 stone so they're too big for me now. If you're interested I'll add some photos.
They're two piece zip-together black, white and silver leather with mesh inserts.
Size is about 52 trousers, 58 jkt, foreign sizes not inches!
