Me too - I REALLY want to do a project with a BB, but I know full well I don't have pretty much any of the required skills

Hi Here is a couple of pics of a BIG head light i picked up for cheap (Bootsale ?10) it was a single fillment put i changed tht and even though the lens is Blueish a friend at the MOT bay said it would most likey past but it would get me pulled alot if i ever turned it off. Oil cooler in temp place till i finish the bike due to not really wanting the spend ?120+ on oil lines after i do get lines or diffrent cooler i would like to place it under the rad.

She still abit of a mess at the mo wires still even where not had much time to go over and crack on with some real work just little bits here and there. Still on the look out for a R1 mud guard in any con really part from broke as will be painted agian anyway.
Also i was gonna ask ive got rid on the OEM clocks as they are massive and would have not really been the look i waited but this has left me with a mass of wires shall i just make them watertight and hide them or cut them down or out??? all i need is the fuel gauge wire(s) and the ignition wires??

One mod worth considering is to upgrade the R1 blue spot calipers to the gold spots.

I upgraded my Thunderace from Ace blue spots (bastid to bleed BTW due to the external link pipe) to the R1 golds and it makes a BIG difference.

If you want to get rid of the brake master cylinder a Fazer master unit does a good job of making the bars a tad nicer.

only just seen this...go on lad....get stuck in.

want my honest feedback?

too late, didn't hear you say no 8rfl@

the thing with bulding bikes is the detail...and the lines...

for my eye, the seat unit needs to be a bit higher so the lines flow better. and the important detail is the 'shut line'...where it joins with the tank. you need to make sure that you think how the seat fits in too. Remember the indents on the tank ...either fill them or do something with the seat.

now then....the oil cooler....it looks absolutely rank up there! cheap fix...X11 brake lines and make a bracket to go under the rad

good luck with the build...I'll be watching:-:

On the oil cooler, why not move it back to the position of the injection one at the top of the rad?
Personally I would be wary of mounting it below the rad due to stones being thrown up espcially with a short mudguard.
With USD forks you do need to check clearance on full lock and full bump.
On my Bird I have crammed an intercooler in and moved the oil cooler up into the nosecose!

No not Bird forks those, late ZX12R mounted in early ZX12R yokes, the discs are 320's so the spacers for the Brembos I made out of Ti.
