just wondered at which point anyone guessed the correct reason, so I went back and checked, bit like "guess the fault" Bingo!....funnily enough there are several posts on here about bikes that have had strange faults, most of which are EFI's that need a loom fix, or can be traced to alarm/immobilisers that have failed. And the advice is always the same, ditch the alarm wiring and buy the best lock and chain money can buy.

HALLELUJAH !!!!!!!

:bow:JAWS You are the Man!!!!!!!!

Jaws managed to sprinkle his magic dust down the phone line...

It was the immobiliser, water had got into the loom on the left hand side and knackered up the alarm wiring!!!

The voltage across all 3 of the stator wires is within .5v of each other, so hopefully ok!!

Just waiting for a new rec/reg unit to turn up (the one I had ordered didn't match up with the bolt holes..

then I will tentatively and carefully take her out for a test (not wanting to upset Wolfie, lol ;-0)))

@tu*Thanks for all your help everybody @tu*

I'm confused. His Holiness has diagnosed alarm problems but you are waiting for a new reg/rec??

And it's not 'her' it is a lump of metal and plastic.

A lump of metal and plastic? I'm not going to tell her you said that.. tut tut..

Re new rec/reg, . whilst tracking down the fault I discovered that the reg/rec unit was toast.. hence the new battery I bought and probably didnt need (wasnt getting a full charge)..

I've had the stator checked out at work, and checked it with the bike running, all seems fine, but time will tell.. (If she has any!)

Feck that. Correct, ditch the alarm but dont bother wasting money on 17 Kilos of chain and lock. try not to park it to near to Salford and insure it for theft, job done

Even an AVO 8 struggles to measure anything under an Ohm with any accuracy and modern digital meters are as much use as bumholes

Not like you to give potentially misleading info, John.

We all know there are members on here who have several uses for bumholes8rfl@

Entrance as well as an exit anyone?
