In the UK it can be............but it doesn't feel right.

Depends on contract.

If we're off sick due to an industrial injury then that sickness counts when assessing capability or sickness record for absence management /disciplinary.

Our current covid rules require us to work normally, but then we aren't in the same environment as Ogr1.

Probably not, but if I got injured via a resident, they would give me time off with full pay. It's happened lot's of times
because they are terrified of public or press interference.

No, unless you are management.
At work this morning & mandatory mask wearing for 10 working days.
Everyone pissed off as there are no linked cases, just one person & she went home yesterday. We ALL had a mandatory test yesterday & everyone was clear, but that was feckin useless
as the incubation period is 24 hours.
Patients again do not have to wear a mask. Another pointless knee jerk reaction by the establishment.
I can go to my local hospital, dentist etc
& be mask free.
