Is there anyone who has their Bird handy and could do me a small favour today. I need to buy a mount for a newly acquired GPS - its actually a s/h emap from a mate who has just upgraded to a new swanky Garmin jobby that only came out this week.

Anyway, he was using a RAM mount, and I need someone to measure the diameter of the small hole behind the rubber seal on the yoke - you know, right in the middle, theres a small rubber cap. I have an 02 bird, but I would assume they're the same for all Birds?

Been looking at the above site and I "hope" I can get the T1 fitting (13mm), which will mount the emap just in front of the tank.

And also, out of interest, found this interesting link as to how some people have fitted a Garmin mount to their VFRs. I don't think the BB tank bolts that way so may not be any use but thought I'd mention anyway.

Yeah I had read that. Thanks.

I was hoping to get a solution where I could take the bracket on anf off as I please as I only intend to use the GPS for trips abroad etc not everyday use.

Thanks MickB. From memory, I had reckoned it was smaller than 13mm. :xm


Looks like I will have to come up with another method.
