Hello to all !

I Have just recently joined this site after purchasing a Year 2000 Bird from a Honda Main Dealer.

I need some advice on the issue of the CCT. I've noticed a rattle from the right side of the engine as the revs increase from 3000rpm +, from idle the engine is quiet but as the revs increase you can hear the noise. I've not noticed it before because you can't hear it when riding only when stationary. There's no lack power the bike has covered 12000miles.I understand this is a common fault?

How many miles are you guys getting from a full tank? I'm getting on average 130miles ! By the way mine is the fuel injected model.

Your help with the above would be very much appreciated as I've only got 2 weeks left on my warranty !!!

Thanks

Neil

Neil the rattle you mention sounds just like a C.C.T. on its way out. I had to change mine at 16000 mls it had rattled just a little for about 1000 mls and then got worse quite quickly.

As for MPG I have a fuel injected one too and I get about the same as you but most of my driving is in Birmingham or on motorways at ****mph (FAST).

Personaly I would chase the dealership hard and demand a new C.C.T. and make sure its the new improved one.

I'm getting about 180 miles before the reserve starts flashing, about legal speeds, on a injected 04 model. Works out filling the tank up to the filler neck each time an average of 45mpg

Red ones

Have you noticed its only the guys who dont own a red one that whine on about them?, the truth is that they wish they had bought a fast red one in the first place instead of having to put up with any other second hand slow colour - blue, black, grey, silver......

You never hear Red owners complain about lack of speed - CAUSE WE KNOW HOW JEALOUS YOU OTHERS ARE man8um
