Bike just come back from a service, but i have noticed the rear axle has been put in the wrong way, Ie the nut is now on the left handside (sprocket side) the guy say it makes no difference, "Im not sure, what do YOU think HELP" :dunno: :dunno: :dunno:
PS there seems over excessive amounts of copper slip around the brake pads area, is this ok ???.

Copper grease should only be on the back of the pads i.e. the metal plate that the lining is bonded to. If it's anywhere near the linings....clean it off now !!!!!!

As for the axle....not sure M8. :dunno:

I would whip the axle out and put it back to normal just for piece of mind, and clean the copaslip up, back of pads and the slider pins only,

yip thanks c/slip is on back of pads just more than i thought was needed, i have also now noticed that the holes where the axel enter through the the swinging arm and forks have been well greased, when on previous services there wasn't any on at all, should they be greased generously ? :dunno:
I still need advice about the axel (which way) please anyone, as I got the guy coming up to put somthing ells right  cheers

WARNING

Just spoken to Silverone in France via England, and he's not a happy bunny.
The service he had on his Bird seems to have turned out to be a complete
load of bollocks. He's had nowt but trouble getting to his destination in France - engine trouble :bang: the fooking dickhead that serviced it has failed to replace certain parts to do with the air intake plus coil resulting
in bike running like a shitty toilet. He's managed to put it right even though
he did it in the pissing rain. I pitty the bloke when Silverone returns to England.  THE SHIT WILL REALLY HIT THE FAN %$fan

take it you wont be having the viffer done by him then canary. youd be better off bringing it to work and we can service it during our lunch break. looks like ull be busy helping silverone get bike straight and bashing someones head in :bandit: :yo:

ianrobbo1

good looking AND modest
I know its not a help at the moment, but a trip to "the old man"JAWS, on silverones return would probably be in order, and the bill wont be anywhere near a dealers  and as you would probably be "helping" you get to find out about your bike AND that its put back together properly, :dunno:

And the rest

Now Iv got a full refund this is what happened to my bike.

Bike go's in 8.15 am for a basic service, I go;s back 4.30pm to pick it up, not ready, it's in the corner in bits awaiting delivery of a air filter, bloke says no probs I'll deliver it to you latter when it's done.
8.30pm van rolls up (by this time I'v had few) wheels it in me gararge, pays him jobs a goodun "I thinks".
Next day after work I gets it out to polish it "fook" look what I find :-

1. it's covered all over with dirty oily finger prints
2. inner fairing (black bits) not fitting right
3. rear axel replaced opposite way around
4. rear wheel out of line
5. exessive amounts of copper slip on back brake pads
7. exessive amounts of grease around axels
8. damage to paint on front mudguard
9. 3 of those pastic grommets/fasteners not replaced
10. he told me that he had let some air out of the front tyre as it was over inflated, I checks it and it's 7 psi down, I tryed 2 more gauges to make sure.
11. oil only on lower leval of dipstick

so phones him up & tells him about the above, he comes up same night looks at it and apologises say he will pick it up next day and put it right.
So he doses, it comes back at teatime, it looks ok apart from he said that he had not had the inner fairing off so that was not his doing along with the mudguard ???.
Unfortunately I did'nt get chance to try it before I go on holiday, sets off for France "engine note sounds different" the first chance I get to look at it is after a 800 mile run, whips tank off "horror"
1. breather pipe not fitted back on air box
2. coil just dangling by it's wire conections (not bolted on)
3. right hand air intake duct not fitted into air box, the reason why the inner pannels d'int fit right.

And the name of the business P & D MOTORCYCLES, Sheffield, (Hansworth). :bandit:
