Heated grips removal...

Hi,
If the correct bonding glue has been used the only chance to remove them is with use of a heat gun!
Even if you remove them intact (doubtful) refitting them back on new bars may be fruitless as if you nick one element they will never work properly so you will have to repeat the time consuming process again!
Best advice...say fuck it and buy a new pair.

rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Well you only got to remove the left one really, rights attached to the throttle tube

Ive done it, unplug the grip,

shove some thing not too sharp between the grip and the bar (used a long posi driver), work it all the way round to unstick it,

with the implement still in place turn and pull the grip off(at the same time)@tu*

Similar to what ramo said I use a rounded off thin screwdriver & once its between the grip & bar give it a squirt of WD40 or similar & work the screwdriver round, once its off you need to remove all traces of wd or it wont stick again on the next bike

The last pair I had were on 3 different bikes & were removed as above they were still working when I sold the last bike :-0)

good looking AND modest
Rather than use glue to fix it onto the next set of bars, could you use hair spray same as when fitting normal bar grips, lubricates as you fit them, it then dries to a clear "firm hold" and can be removed a lot easier than glue ever could!! :dunno:

Personally I would invest ?30 in a set of new Dr Bike grips and save a lot of hassle. Last time i tried to 'carefully ' remove a set of heated grips the Terratek was quickly employed to hack them off. The heating wires are really fragile and damaged vey easily.

Best of luck with your aspirations on this one.@tu*

Clueless in most things
I must agree, I couldn't be arsed moving a old set and would just get a new set, they only cost the same as a pair of trainers and it saves me all the faff.

if you are intent on it though, on bicycle grips I have always done the flat blade screwdriver/stick and wd40 to remove and some hairspray of carpet spray to restick.

Are you saying you have fitted a grip and not glued it? If so please don't ride it! Remove it and glue it. They are glued for a reason and that reason is that it doesn't come off the bar and you lose control of the bike and crash! It's an immediate Police / VOSA prohibition notice if the grip is loose and points on your licence for dangerous condition, you might not find em loose but rain, wash the bike or temperature changes can all have an effect that one minute they are now loose.

For the sake of a few quid not worth risking your life
