There is another solution bill. move to a house with a flatter drive and a garage. you might have to give up those stunning views though.

hey you lot

Look at the picture. What you see is what I got. No room to swing a cat never mind a bike. It's straight up and straight back down backwards.......Have we all got it now????   :wank:s (pl)

Yup Pierre

I sit on it too (oer missus) but I have to generate enough speed to get it up the hill on the main road to point down the hill where I want to go. Often I don't make it and have to ride back up the drive and give it another go. Would you all like to come and have a look/go.....bacon buttees are on me!!!!

I bet that in most situations the RR would be just as quick as the BIRD...until it comes to long distance comfort or luggage.....
My CBR600 F1 carries 3 Givi boxes on a tubular frame (sorry, I don't think you can fit one to the RR) with no problem at all. Hunter keeps telling me she's only 20mph slower than his Bird at top speed . Plenty of grunt and a dream to handle.

I think, given my experience at the Ron Haslam race school, that a CBR600RR is the bike you DON'T want. Unless you can squat for 1 hour and still walk after it....They are made for racetracks, not roads.
A VFR would be a much much better bike for you. Lighter, not really that much slower, comfy, & very reliable.

VFR

Been there done that TOG. Loved it but don't want to go back. Is it any more radical a position than the 400rr?

VFR750 or 800 (pre V-Tech) is well worth a long hard look.
They can tour with luggage, they handle well and have a very smooth power delivery - pokey, but not peaky if you see what I mean.

I also like the ride height (slightly lower than the Bird) and the comfortable riding position. You also get Honda build quality (forget Bandits!!!) and reasonable depreciation.
