Highland Motorcycle Holidays Tours before.....

Reason I ask is that a mate of mine want to go on a tour of the Scottish Highlands for his 50th Birthday, and I have been invited to tag along along with some others, so was just wondering if any of you have used em or have heard any reports about them...............

Just had a shuftie on their website,
http://www.highlandmotorcyclehols.com/reviews.htm
What they are offering seems good and they have teamed up with hoseasons and when you consider how long hoseasons have been around I think it would be bad business to team up with another company if they were crap, so looks good to me.

Is that serious enough?

Why bother with an organised tour. I've done the highlands for the last three years and it's the best place in the UK for biking, always assuming it doesn't rain. Loads of B&Bs and hotels. Beautiful scenery. Go up the west coast and hope for a clear day as you ride through Glen Coe. We stay in Ullapool from where there are some superb roads to play on. Go and enjoy. PS. Take your wet gear.

Trouble is Ian, Shaun is only just in Scotland, if fact there is dispute as to whether it is Scotland or England, I think it's a case of one of those places nobody wants (like Middlesborough).

I spoke to this guy at theNEC and he seems decent enough - he was certainly enthusiastic!! As for going alone, this would be my recommendation. There's tons of great places to visit and going by bike means you don't have to meander around behind caravans. Top on my list are
- Oban
- Skye
- Ullapool
- Glen Coe (on the famous A82 from Crianlariach to Fort William)
- Loch Lomond
- Glen Shee (by doing Braemar to Pitlochry)
- the Lecht

If you went through half of these places you'd have seen some of the best of Scotland on some our best roads. The A82 is a 'must do' so if you were coming up from Barnsley you could go M6 and M74 to Glasgow. Up to Loch Lomond then Crianlariach. There you have a choice: go to Fort William or Oban. I'd go for Oban saving the Oban to Ballahuilish road. The rest is up to you......!!!!
